👉 Do notes light up in Piano Marvel?
🔍 Step 1 — What Are You Using?
This matters more on iOS than anywhere else.
👉 Choose one:
-
USB cable (wired connection) → Go to Step 2
-
MIDI interface (DIN cables) → Go to Step 2
-
Bluetooth MIDI → Go to Step 5
-
Not sure → You’re likely using USB → Go to Step 2
🔌 Step 2 — Check Your Physical Connection
For iPad / iPhone (wired)
-
Keyboard powered ON
-
Cable firmly connected
-
Adapter firmly connected to device
⚠️ Critical (very common issue):
If you are using an adapter, you must use a data-capable adapter
Correct adapters/Cables:
⚠️ Common mistakes:
-
Cheap adapters that only charge
-
Loose connections
-
Using a USB hub
👉 Test again.
-
Working? → Done
-
Still not working? → Continue
🔄 Step 3 — Reset the Connection
-
Unplug everything
-
Close Piano Marvel
-
Reopen the app
-
Plug everything back in
👉 Test again.
-
Working? → Done
-
Still not working? → Continue
⚙️ Step 4 — Check Keyboard Settings
Some keyboards will not send data correctly.
Check:
-
Keyboard volume is up
-
A normal piano sound is selected
-
MIDI output is enabled (if applicable)
⚠️ Common issue:
-
Keyboard is powered but not sending MIDI data
👉 Test again.
-
Working? → Done
-
Still not working? → Continue
📶 Step 5 — Bluetooth MIDI Issues
Bluetooth is convenient—but unreliable if not set up correctly.
Check:
-
Device is paired correctly
-
Keyboard is discoverable
-
Bluetooth is enabled
Try:
-
Disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth
-
Restart Bluetooth on your device
⚠️ Common issues:
-
Paired in iOS settings, but not properly connected for MIDI
-
Connection drops silently
👉 Test again.
-
Working? → Done
-
Still not working? → Continue
🧪 Step 6 — Test the Keyboard Outside Piano Marvel
This isolates the issue.
Try:
-
Another music app
-
A MIDI testing app (We recommend MIDI Wrench)
Results:
-
Works in another app → Issue is app/config → continue
-
Does NOT work anywhere → Hardware/cable/adapter issue
🔄 Step 7 — Restart Your Device
-
Power off your iPhone/iPad
-
Turn it back on
-
Open Piano Marvel
👉 Test again
🧩 Step 8 — Reduce Complexity
-
Disconnect other MIDI devices
-
Use only one keyboard
-
Avoid hubs or splitters
👉 Test again
