🔊 No Sound (Web App Fix Guide)

• You press keys, but hear no sound

🚨 Start Here (Important)

Press a key on your keyboard.

👉 Do notes light up in Piano Marvel?

• NO → This is NOT a sound issue
  → Go to: Keyboard Not Detected (Web App Fix Guide)
• YES → Continue below

🔍 Step 1 — Check Your Volume

• Turn up your computer volume 
• Turn up Piano Marvel volume (Mixer in the lower right corner of a lesson)
• Make sure your keyboard volume isn’t muted (if using onboard sound)

⚠️ Common mistakes:

• System volume muted
• Output set to 0%
• Headphones plugged in but not worn

👉 Test again.

• Working? → Done
• Still no sound? → Continue

🎧 Step 2 — Check Your Audio Output Device

Your sound may be going to the wrong place.

On Windows:

• Right-click sound icon → Open Sound Settings
• Check Output Device

On Mac:

• System Settings → Sound → Output

👉 Make sure the correct device is selected:

• Speakers
• Headphones
• Audio interface

⚠️ Common issue:

• Sound going to HDMI monitor or inactive device

👉 Test again.

• Working? → Done
• Still no sound? → Continue

🌐 Step 3 — Check Browser Audio

Piano Marvel runs in your browser.

Make sure:

• The tab is NOT muted
• Browser volume is allowed

In Chrome:

• Right-click tab → make sure “Mute Site” is NOT selected

👉 Test again.

• Working? → Done
• Still no sound? → Continue

🔄 Step 4 — Restart Audio Chain

• Close Piano Marvel tab
• Fully close your browser
• Reopen browser
• Reload Piano Marvel

👉 Test again.

🎹 Step 5 — Check Keyboard Sound Mode

Some keyboards:

• Have internal sounds turned off
• Are set to MIDI-only mode

👉 Try:

• Turning up keyboard volume
• Switching to a piano voice
• Disabling “local off” (if applicable)

⚠️ If unsure:

• This varies by keyboard model

🧪 Step 6 — Test Other Audio

Play something else on your computer:

• YouTube video
• Music file

Results:

• No sound anywhere → System audio issue
• Sound works elsewhere but not in Piano Marvel → Continue

⚙️ Step 7 — Check for Conflicts

Other apps can take control of audio.

👉 Close:

• DAWs (Ableton, FL Studio, etc.)
• MIDI/audio tools
• Other browser tabs using sound

👉 Test again.

🧠 Step 8 — Try a Different Browser

• Use Google Chrome (recommended)
• Avoid outdated browsers

👉 Test again.

🧩 Edge Cases

Bluetooth headphones

• May connect but not output correctly
• Try disconnecting/reconnecting

Audio interface users

• Ensure correct output routing
• Check interface software

High latency or crackling
