🤖 Android App (Beta) — Known Issues & Recommended Setup

⚠️ Important (Read First)

The Piano Marvel Android app is currently in beta testing.

👉 This means:

  • Some features may not work correctly
  • Performance may be inconsistent
  • Not all devices are fully supported

For the best experience:

👉 Use Piano Marvel in your browser (Chrome) instead of the Android app

🚨 If You’re Using the Android App

👉 What’s happening?

  • App won’t load / crashes → Continue below
  • Keyboard not working → Use Web App guides
  • No sound / timing issues → Use Web App guides
  • General instability → Expected in beta

🔍 Step 1 — Try the Web App Instead (Best Fix)

Android app issues are often not fixable yet.

Do this:

  • Open Google Chrome
  • Go to Piano Marvel
  • Use the web version

👉 This is currently the most stable way to use Piano Marvel on Android devices

🔄 Step 2 — Basic App Troubleshooting (If You Stay on Android)

If you still want to use the Play Store app:

Try:

  • Restart your device
  • Force close the app
  • Reopen it
  • Check for updates in the Play Store

👉 Test again.

  • Working? → Done
  • Still broken? → Continue

🔌 Step 3 — Keyboard / MIDI Issues

Android MIDI support can be inconsistent across devices.

If your keyboard isn’t working:

  • Try reconnecting it
  • Avoid adapters/hubs
  • Test in another app (MIDI Scope works well for this)

👉 If issues persist:
→ Use the Keyboard Not Detected (Web App Fix Guide)

🔊 Step 4 — Sound / Timing Issues

Android audio handling varies by device.

Try:

  • Disconnect Bluetooth
  • Use device speakers
  • Close background apps

👉 If issues persist:
→ Use the No Sound (Web App Fix Guide)

🧠 Reality Check (Important)

The Android app is still evolving.

👉 Some issues:

  • Cannot be fixed yet
  • Depend on device compatibility
  • Require future updates

💬 Beta Testing & Feedback

Piano Marvel provides:

  • A beta tester feedback form
  • A Discord community for Android users

👉 Contact support to request access to the Discord

🎯 When Should You Use Android?

Use the Android app if you:

  • Want to test new features
  • Are comfortable with bugs
  • Want to provide feedback

Do NOT rely on Android if you:

  • Want a stable learning experience
  • Are troubleshooting setup issues
  • Need consistent scoring/feedback

👉 Use Web or iOS instead
